Our Cows

We are a medium-sized dairy farm based at Whiddon Down, mid Devon, established over 40 years ago by myself Harold and my wife Mollie Dunn.

Together with our daughters Julia and Catherine,we are a hard working family that produce thousands of litres of pasteurised whole, semi-skimmed and skimmed milk, along with Devon clotted, double and single creams for delivery to homes and businesses around Devon. Our milk is processed and packaged on site keeping it fresher longer, and our creams are made using traditional methods in the farm's dairy.

Our latest introduction to the farm is the new robotic milking system. This enables our cows to visit the milking shed whenever they want to be milked. All our cows have a microchip fitted to their collars that identifies our cows and adjusts the robotic milker accordingly. Gone are the days when the cows would wait at the end of the day with full udders to be milked, avoiding "udder scrape" and infection.

We believe the welfare of our cows to be paramount. This is why our cows are free to roam, herding in their natural family environment. Living a healthy outdoor existence. Robotic Milking makes this all possible. We ensure that our cows are fed the same diet maintaining the taste that we have strived for years to achieve.
